The following procedures are normally followed in our service department:

1. Basic check and adjustment:
Inspection is made to check mechanical and optical parts. Minor repairs and cleaning are made and the instrument is calibrated.
2. Damage or extensive wear:
Frequently occurs when the instrument is dropped, knocked over, or has not been serviced in a long time. Dis-assembled as required, damaged parts repaired or replaced, re-assembled with factory lubricants, and calibrated.
3. Complete overhaul:
There are many moving parts in a builders / surveyors instrument. These parts are manufactured to precise tolerances. After years of use dirt gets into these parts, and the lubricants dry out. In this situation we completely dis-assemble the instrument, clean it in an ultrasonic de-greaser, reassemble with factory lubricants and calibrate.
